Training Courses
Attend one of CSC's excellent UK training courses, run by engineers who know how to get the best from our software. We provide nationwide training on the full range of CSC products either at your office, one of our regional centres, or at our offices.
CSC training courses are limited to a manageable number of people and every attendee is provided with their own computer to work on. This includes on-site courses where we can provide laptop computers to facilitate complete hands on training in your office.
TEDDS Eurocode
Using the 'Eurocode' design calculations within the TEDDS design software is fantastic way for engineers to become familiar with these new codes.
A series of example calculation can be run to investigate how the new code requirements affect the design of the key structural elements.
Attendees on this course, should be familiar with the basic operation of TEDDS, and ideally should have attended the TEDDS standard day one training course.
For any engineer who wishes to use Eurocodes to design structures, attendance on this course would be extremely beneficial.
Fastrak Building Designer Eurocode
The inclusion of 'Eurocode' design rules within the Fastrak building design software is a huge step, while much of the basic 3D modelling remains the same as the BS version there are many major differences in the design process which users must understand before attempting to use this version of the software.
For any engineer who wishes to use Fastrak Building Designer to design structures to the Eurocodes, attendance on this course should be considered essential.
Orion Eurocode
The inclusion of 'Eurocode' design rules with the Orion software is a huge step, while much of the basic 3D modelling remains the same as the BS version there are many major differences in the design process which users must understand before attempting to use this version of the software.
For any engineer who wishes to use Orion to design structures to the Eurocodes, attendance on this course should be considered essential.
Fastrak Building Designer Day 1 - Standard
The course is designed for those with knowledge of steel frame structures and BS5950-2000: Part 1. By the end of the course, trainees will be confident in the use of the software to design multi-storey buildings.
Fastrak Building Designer Day 2 - Advanced
The course is designed for those with knowledge of steel frame structures and BS5950-2000: Part 1 and have attended the Fastrak Building Designer Standard Course as a pre-requisite. By the end of the course, trainees will be confident in the use of the software to design multi-storey buildings, including advanced 3D modelling, vibration and the efficient use of the NEW Wind/Connection modules.
Fastrak Portal Frame Design
The course is designed for those with little or no prior experience of using the software but with knowledge of portal frame design, plastic analysis and BS5950-2000: Part 2. By the end of the course, trainees will be confident in the use of the software to design multi-span portal frames including strength & serviceability checks, frame stability, member stability and base fixity.
Orion Day 1 - Standard
The course is designed for those with little or no prior experience of using the software. By the end of the course, trainees will be confident in: creating the building model; performing a building analysis; designing floor slabs/beams/columns/walls & foundations; creating GA drawings & RC detail drawings; use of Finite Element Analysis for design of floor slabs and for chasing gravity loads down thought the structure; importing data from DXF files is also covered.
Orion Day 2 - Flat Slab and Essential Modelling Techniques
The course is designed for those already familiar with the software. Tips for modelling various common situations are given, as are ways to cross check the validity of the building analysis. Finite Element analysis is investigated. Various options for dealing with transfer beams\slabs are given. Flat slab analysis and design is discussed in detail.
S-Frame Day 1 - Standard
The course is designed for those with little or no prior experience of S-Frame. By the end of the course, trainees will be confident in the use of the software to: input; analyse and design a typical structure.
S-Frame Day 2 - Advanced Analysis
Demonstrations and discussions alternate with a good deal of hands-on time spent working through Tutorial Examples from a course manual, which is provided for future reference and guidance.
S-Frame Day 2 - Finite Element Analysis
The course is designed for those with prior experience of S-Frame. By the end of the course, trainees will be confident in the use of the software to: input; analyse and design a typical FE structure.
TEDDS
This course is designed for those with little or no prior experience of using the program. Its aim is to introduce the full range of TEDDS proforma calculations and utilities and make trainees confident in their use. The writing and editing of calculations is also covered and many practical hints and tips are demonstrated and practised.
Autodesk Revit Structure Day 1 & 2 - Standard
The course is designed for those with no prior knowledge of Revit Structure. By the end of the course, trainees will be confident in the use of the software to build models, create drawings, material lists and understand the requirements necessary to integrate with CSC Design Products.
3D+ Day 1 & 2 - Standard
This course is designed for users who are proficient in the use of AutoCad but have little or no experience of using 3D+. By the end of the two day course, the user will be proficient in creating three dimensional models of any shape using any material or sections desired, creating 3D isometric drawings along with 2D plans, sections and elevations, creating material lists and linking the model to a number of different CAD packages.
3D+ Day 3 - Advanced
This course is formulated for the more experienced 3D+ user. The course covers items from the Standard 2-Day course and expands their content. At the end of the one-day course, the user will be able to apply analysis information to a model, combine models together effectively and split models for similtaneous modelling between several users, link models to Steel Detailing Software along with Fastrak Building Designer.
